Toyota’s management system sells for about $5 million at auction.
The sales system is the product of a joint venture between Toyota and Mitsubishi Motors Corp., the two companies said Thursday.
The system is used to manage the Toyota and Honda brands, and to manage Toyota’s vehicles and their brands, Toyota said.
It has been on sale since May, when the system sold for $3.7 million.
It’s sold for more than $6 million in the past.
The sale is a win for Mitsubishis global Toyota division, which was hoping to sell the system for $1 million.
The sale comes at a time when Toyota is under pressure to show results and drive sales as it seeks to improve its financial performance and its bottom line.
